Clinical observation on the endocrinal and immune functions in subjects with yin-deficiency constitution
正Objective：To explore the relationship between yin-deficiency constitution(YDC) and biochemical indexes by way of observing the endocrinal and immune functions in subjects with YDC.Methods：On the basis of epidemiological investigation，60 subjects with YDC and 50 with gentle constitution(GC) were selected according to the pertinent criteria.From each subject，8 mL of fasting venous blood was drawn at 8：00-9：00 in the morning，with the serum separated by centrifugation 3 000 r/min for 5 min and preserved at -70℃in a freezer.Serum levels of corticosterone，cortisol，adrenocorticotrophic hormone(ACTH)，cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP)，cyclic guanosine monophosphate(cGMP)，free triiodothyronine(FT3)，free thyroxine (FT4)，throtropic stimulation hormone，interleukin 1β(IL-1β) and interleukin 2(IL-2) were detected by doubleantibody sandwich ELISA;cAMP/cGMP ratio was calculated，and the difference between the two constitutions in terms of these indexes was analyzed.Results：Serum FT3 was 4.16±1.38 pmol/L in subjects with YDC，which was higher than that in subjects with GC(3.71±0.55 pmol/L)，but levels of cortisol(124.58±45.36 ng/mL)， ACTH(58.92±14.55 pg/mL)，cGMP(66.00±18.02 pmol/mL) and FT4(12.33±3.12 pmol/L) in YDC were lower than those in GC(13.43±2.31 pmol/L)，showing significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion：YDC is related to some extent with the disturbances in the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis，hypothalamus-pituitary-thyroid axis，cyclic nucleoside system and immune function.

ABSTRACT Metal-supported ITSOFCs having NiO or NiO+YDC 15 anode， yttria stabilized ceria electrolyte (YDC 15) and LSCF or LSCF+CGO composite cathodes were fabricated via plasma spraying for operation in the temperature range of 600-700°C. Highest performance was recorded with NiO+YDC 15 / YDC 15 / LSCF+CGO cells. In the next step it is planned to optimize fabrication parameters in order to attain crack free and thinner electrolytes and more porous composite cathode which will lead to double cell performance.
[Recurrence of Cerebral Infarction Associated Aspirin Resistance or Chinese Medical Constitutions: a Correlation Study].
To explore the correlation between the recurrence of cerebral infarction and aspirin resistance (AR)/Chinese medical (CM) constitutions.Totally 413 cerebral infarction patients took Aspirin Enteric-coated Tablet (100 mg per day) while receiving routine therapy， 5 days at least in a week. They were followed-up for 12 months. Aspirin sensitivity (AS) was determined using turbidimetry. CM constitutions among patients with different AS were compared. Ratios of AR patients and AS patients of different CM constitutions in cerebral infarction recurrent patients were compared. Platelet membrane glycoproteins (GP) II b HPA-3 gene polymorphism was detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. Correlation between recurrence of cerebral infarction and AR， bb genotypes， CM constitutions times AS were analyzed by Logistic regression.Totally 11 patients dropped out， 101 (25.12%)with recurrent cerebral infarction and 301 (74.88%) without recurrent cerebral infarction. There were 152 (37.81%) AR patients and 250 (62.19%) AS patients. AR accounted for 26.6% (80/ 301) and AS accounted for 73.4% (221/301) in non-recurrent cerebral infarction patients. AR accounted for 71.3% (72/101) and AS accounted for 28.7% (29/101) in recurrent cerebral infarction patients. There was statistical difference in AR and AS ratios (χ2 = 64.287， P = 0.000). The proportion of yin deficiency constitution (YDC) was the largest [28.3% (43/152)] in AR patients. The proportion of blood stasis constitution (BSC) was the largest [23.6% (59/250)] in AS patients. There was statistical difference in CM constitutions between AR patients and AS patients (χ2 = 21.574， P < 0.01). The former 4 recurrent rates occurred in AR patients of YDC， BSC， damp-phlegm constitution (DPC)， qi deficiency constitution (QDC). YDC occupied the first place [22.4% (34/152)]. The former 4 recurrent rates occurred in AS patients of BSC， QDC， DPC， damp-heat constitution (DHC). BSC occupied the first place [3.2% (2/250)]. Compared with non-recurrent cerebral infarction patients and AS patients， bb gene occurred most often， but aa gene and ab gene occurred obviously lesser in non-recurrent cerebral infarction patients and AR patients (χ2 = 20.171， χ2 = 55.139， P < 0.01). AR and bb gene were positively correlated with recurrent cerebral infarction (OR = 18.423， P = 0.000; OR = 1.304， P = 0.028). Body constitutions interacted with AS (OR = 0.707， P = 0.000).Recurrent cerebral infarction was closely related to AR and constitutional types. The recurrence rate was higher in AR patients of YDC. GP I b HPA-3 bb genotype might be a risk factor for AR and recurrent cerebral infarction.

ABSTRACT Bacterial spot of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) is one of the most important constraints in tomato production worldwide， while， the status of the disease has not been studied in Iran. The aim of this study was to identify the causal agent of a new tomato disease in Iran， suspected to be bacterial spot. During the early 2015， surveys were conducted on the tomato producing areas of Borazjan and Kazerun counties (Bushehr and Fars provinces， respectively). Isolation of the bacterial strains from leaf samples was performed on the nutrient agar (NA) medium. Biochemical tests were conducted according to the standard procedures. Pathogenicity of the isolated bacteria was assayed on tomato plants in the greenhouse conditions. Furthermore， the 16S rDNA and gyr B genes of the bacterial strains were sequenced for the exact identification. Fifteen bacterial isolates were purified. All the isolates were gram negative， catalase positive， oxidase negative， and produced yellow mucoid colonies on YDC medium. The isolates were characterized as Xanthomonas spp. based on the biochemical characteristics. In the pathogenicity test， the inoculated tomato plants showed leaf spot symptoms 10-15 days after inoculation. According to the 16S rDNA and gyr B sequencing data， the bacterial strains were identified as Xanthomonas campestris. To our knowledge， this is the first report of bacterial spot of tomato in Iran. Since the infected tomato seeds are the main source of inoculum， appropriate quarantine measures have to be conducted to prevent the spread of the disease to uninfected areas.
ABSTRACT Bacterial spot of pepper (Capsicum annuum) caused by Xanthomonas euvesicatoria is considered as one of the destructive diseases of pepper worldwide. The disease is widespread in the USA， Europe， Brazil， and Mediterranean countries. Bacterial spot has not been reported in Iran; hence， the purpose of the present study was to identify the causal agent of a new disease on pepper in northwestern Iran， suspected to be bacterial spot. In the summer of 2013， leaf spot symptoms have been observed on pepper plants in Marand County， East Azerbaijan， northwestern Iran. Bacterial strains were isolated from symptomatic leaves using the standard procedures. Identification of the purified stains was conducted based on biochemical and molecular techniques. Pathogenicity of the strains was assayed on the 30-day-old pepper plants in greenhouse conditions. Yellow pigmented， domed convex， gram-negative colonies were observed on the YDC medium after 48 h. Twelve strains were purified， and subjected to further characterization. The bacterial strains were identified as X. euvesicatoria based on the PCR amplification of 173 bp DNA fragment using Bs-XeF and Bs-XeR primer pair. Sequencing of 16S rDNA and gyr B genes using fd1/rp2 and XgyrPCR2F/X.gyrrsp1 primer pairs， respectively， was confirmed the identity of the bacterial strains as X. euvesicatoria. This is the first report of X. euvesicatoria causing bacterial spot of pepper in Iran. Since the infected pepper seeds are considered as the main source of inoculum， reinforcement of the quarantine roles， and restriction of the transportation of bacteria-infected seeds are needed to control the bacterial spot of pepper in Iran.
